The New Jersey Department of Transportation is now accepting Safe Routes to School Grant Applications. SRTS grants are available for infrastructure projects that encourage and enable K-8 students to walk and bike safely to school. Proposed project improvements must be within a two-mile radius of a K-8 grade school. Municipalities, counties, schools, and school districts are welcome to apply! Examples of eligible SRTS projects include installing ADA-compliant sidewalks, bike paths, striping, lighting, signals, traffic calming improvements, etc.

These free online sessions will provide participants with information about applying for the Safe Routes to School grants.  The sessions are designed to assist you with making your grant application stronger to turn your project into a reality. Safe Routes to School grant applications are due October 14, 2021.  For more information visit the Safe Routes to School Grants page.
