Increasing rainfall that runs off of New Jersey’s many impervious surfaces causes flooding, water pollution, and property damage. Thankfully, green infrastructure can reduce stormwater runoff to lessen stormwater’s negative effects while also providing health and environmental benefits to communities. But with climate change as an ever-present reality, what can New Jersey do to become more resilient? This panel, including Anne Heasly, Sustainable Jersey Program Manager of Policy & Planning, will explore how state government, regions, and municipalities can each employ sustainable stormwater strategies to combat runoff and climate change. The session, part of the NJ Planning & Redevelopment Conference, will provide practical guidance and next steps for viewers whose work or interests fall at any of these scales.
